The Mi-17 is a multi-purpose helicopter developed by the Soviet Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant. The Turkish Gendarmerie General Command added these helicopters to their inventory in the 1990s and has used them for various operational tasks. Known as “Mücahit” (Warrior), the Mi-17s have been effective in personnel and cargo transport, medical evacuation, search and rescue, and reconnaissance missions. Today, while being gradually replaced by more modern platforms, they are still in use for certain missions.
