The Turkish Coast Guard Command incorporated Bell AB-206 Jet Ranger helicopters into its inventory to carry out search and rescue and maritime security missions. These light utility helicopters, introduced in the late 1960s and early 1970s, played a crucial role, particularly in coastal and maritime operations. The Jet Rangers significantly enhanced the Coast Guard’s operational efficiency by providing swift response capabilities. However, as more advanced helicopters entered service in subsequent years, the AB-206s were gradually phased out.
